KitchAid Dishwasher power cord recoil

The power cord is stuck in our portable dishwasher (appears stuck,will not pull out). Does anyone know where I can find a diagram of how a power cord to see how it recoils inside? KitchenAid KDR66 has been a remarkable machine - and we bought it 2nd hand. Thanks for your help.

i am guessing that your dishwasher is old because it is not listed on the kitchen aid site, how ever they do have a "use & care guide" request page which you need to fill in, you can find it at

Thanks very much for taking the time to reply... Good suggestion! However, I do have the Use and Care Guide, but there is no diagram/schematic of the inside of the machine. Yes, it is a circa 1966 Kitchen Aid Model KDR66 & still works like new! Back in 1973, someone had hauled it all the way from Calif. to Ohio & found their new home had a built in dishwasher. We figured if they bothered to ship it that far - it must be a good one..so we bought it .. and it has been!
