I'm fitting some kitchen base cabinets but need to leave space for a semi integrated dishwasher (600mm wide). Will I need to set the cabinets forward to ensure the cupboard doors / dishwasher appliance fascia are in line? Any other gotchas you can think of before I get started?

thanks

I think it depends. I only fitted our own kitchen, but from my experience I think that the dishwasher would have the same, if not slightly smaller dimensions than a kitchen base unit, BUT you might need to pull the dishwasher, and therefore all cupboards, forwards to accomodate pipework. The key difference between the appliance and cupboards is that there is no service void at the back of the appliance and you can't notch them out.

When I did my kitchen I had just bought a replacement slimline dishwasher, so left a gap

Eventually that died so I bought an integrated one

First problem was that I had bought spare 500mm doors, but the unit was 450.
I sorted that quite easily

But the new unit (both Bosch) was deeper than the old one.
I wrongly assumed that the non integrated one was an integrated one with an added casing- wrong

It did fit under the cabinets but I had to do loads of plumbing to clear the back wall of pipework as it was deeper

Ideally you need to have the dishwasher to measure or at least know which model and its dimensions to ensure the space is suitable.

As others have commented, ideally have you water feed and waste pipe in the cupboard next to the dishwasher as there is no, to little space behind dishwasher to accommodate
