My kitchen is an extension with a flat roof. It currently has polystyrene tiles on the ceiling but I am going to cover them with tongue and groove attached to battens screwed through the tiles. The tiles will provide some insulation but is it worth putting extra insulation between the tiles and the wood? Cheeky extra question, is T&G available in lengths longer than 2.4m?

get your txg from a woodyard or timber merchant 4.2 normaly avalable
[from 2.1 to 4.2 in 0.3 increments 2.4 2.7 3 3.3 3.6 3.9 4.2 but not all avalablein all places]

polystyrene tiles now highly frowned upon as a fire hazard
modern poly is treated to to be fire resistant
the possible insulation value likely to be minimal also your likely to sweat the ceiling as it cant breath with poly trapped and no air flow under the t and g

you also need a firm fixing off the battons not easy through tiles
