Hello,

new to this site and usually find out all my answers without having to post.
But this time going for whole new kitchen inc. walls, floor.
Going to keep our old cooker & hood which are stainless steel and in good condition. We are moving whole kitchen to other side where is chimney and just thinking of connecting hood extractor to chimney. I have read few posts already. Chimney last time been used at least 10-15 years ago.

Have 2 options to go for :

Option 1

Connect hood extractor fan to existing chimney with flexi pipe about 3ft length + use right filters on hood to catch fat also will have separate fan through wall where was old boiler as new one is upstairs
Chimney is about 6m long and is not straight

Option 2

Fit hood and connect aluminium flexi pipe to hood and other end through wall which will go between joists if they go right way with exit outside + correct filter on hood to catch fat. Whole length will be about 13-16ft.

Is there any Building Regulation that specify Venting in Kitchen ???
