Hello all,

I recently had my chimney lintel raised to accommodate a gas hob and electric oven below. Unfortunately because the chimney slants in to the left part way up, there is now only a space of about 8-10cm in which to fit a cooker hood. The shallowest hoods I've found are about 16cm deep... Does anyone know of any ultrathin hoods, or has anyone got any experience of making one of their own?

I can vent up through the open chimney, so I guess a simple extractor fan would do the job... right??

Many thanks!

You could fit inside chimney leaving the bottom flush with the bottom of fireplace if it's large enough.Venting up a chimney is not ideal as grease can form a fire hazard and condensation run back down.
You would need to provide dimensions to get suggestions?
