Hi everyone, there is a small section of our laminate kitchen countertop that has been stained white after bleach was used on it. I have had a good look online and a few people (I guess in America) have said silver cleaner can work to polish this and give the original appearance. The products Tarn-X and Connoisseurs don't seem to be available in supermarkets where I have looked.. does anyone know if any standard silver cleaner in UK supermarkets would work to improve the look of the bleached kitchen counter please?

Bleach damage is permanent. There is nothing to polish out - the bleach has permanently removed the colour.

I think the idea behind silver cleaner is it gives it the appearance of being wet, and when these surfaces are wet you can't tell that they have been bleached. Our countertop looks fine when there's water on it. Has anyone here tried this?

used silver polish might deposit some of its silver in the laminate and hence make it darker?
