We are considering a make over of the kitchen, we currently have a cheapo cooker hood of the type that is hung underneath a bridging unit in the middle of a run of wall units.
We want to replace this with a stainless steel chimney type hood but this presents the following problem :-
We have undercupboard strip lights which are fed from a fused spur above the wall units, the feed cable runs from the spur to a switch underneath one end of the run of wall units and the switched feed is then brought back over the top of the wall units and down at the other end of the wall units to feed the lights under that half of the wall units.
As it stands the cable which is flex, is hidden behind the cornice on the wall units, once the new cooker hood is fitted there will obviously be a gap either side of the chimney section where the cable would be visible. Burying the cable would seem to be the obvious answer, but is is acceptable to do this? and if so what sort of cable/trunking would be needed?
Any advice appreciated
