Hi,
I've had a new kitchen fitted but had it put in another room, so I'm left with the kitchen sink drain hole in the floor

Whats the best thing to do with this before puting cement and tiling over it?

does it need a cover or anything?

Thanks

40mm plug e.g. Toolstation 34283.

Or just glue a bit of ply over it with Sticks like Sh*t.

Either way you don't want drain smell coming out or debris falling in.

Ideally something non absorbent that won't rot if damp, to avoid issues in the future IMO.
A piece of thick slate used to be used for that type of thing. A piece of thick plastic, tile, or similar that may be lying around, cut to fit in there, would be what I'd use. Then use a waterproof adhesive like wetgrab or similar.

Whatever you use make sure that it seals - a blocked drain in the future will see foul water coming up through this. If the run to the nearest inspection chamber is redundant then plug it externally as well.
