There's an old thread related to this but I thought it best to post a new one as, hopefully, my query is more straightforward.
We have a stainless steel kitchen sink and the chrome plating on the overflow bezel/grill is coming off. Is it a simple job to replace the grill and flex pipe down to the waste? Does it simply have a nut on the back and is it a standard size hole?
Here's the existing one (it's a bit scaled up) and a replacement I'm looking at.
Advice appreciated.

Here's the coupling to the waste and the rear of the overflow grill. Looks like it's leaked at some time or the plumber was very messy with sealant.

You won't know if that will fit until you try it.
Random amazon listings will promise everything is universal.
IME you'll need a complete new basket strainer waste with round overflow to ensure compatibility.

And no the plumber wasn't messy, it's been leaking.
