Kitchen sink tap hole

Hi,

My plumber had a little accident when trying to knock out the tap hole on a rangemaster oridian granite sink.

The instructions are clear, mark out hole on top and use a screwdriver and hammer to punch hole out.

But if you look at the pictures of the damaged sink you can see that there is no cut out or weakened area to tap out.

Any suggestions / guidance on the best way to sort this please.

Plumber has paid for a new sink, he broke it.
Just trying to get best advice on how to tackle this.

Yes, I watched him.

Sent an email to rangemaster saying the cut outs are not cut out. You can see from the pictures theres no prep for the cut out done there. Would it be safer to drill?

The instructions say it should be drilled, the diagrams are clear.

Well thats a failing from manufacturer. Clearly the wrong instructions.

Looks like it, but the fact that the holes weren't part cut should have raised alarm bells. There was only one outcome when trying to punch that out, it shouldn't even have been attempted.
