In fairness I would suggest that it's very common for socket-outlets nowadays to be DP switching, although it was certainly much less common in the past.
MK logic was one for a very long time being SP switched sockets whereas rivals were DP switching until MK brought out Logic 2, that amazed me because MK still had some legacy favouring the brand (deserved or not) too at that time.

I've been saying MK are no better than the cheap brands for many years and very possibly decades. I did some work in a school for a new 'tuck shop' the spec was for specific MK socket and plug to replace the moulded plug on the new urn. This was done during Easter break, doing the PAT leading up to the new school year in September the expensive MK plug and socket were found to be welded together.
We were called in to sort it under warranty and of course had to replace with identical cheap quality expensive products.
For a long time leading up to that I'd been saying MK were no better and had possibly replaced more faulty MK products than all the rest put together, albeit not wholly unexpected due to the quantity of MK products in use.
Up until the 60s and 70s MK was one of two respected brand names and perhaps did deserve that.
Since that time Electricians and some of the public started to become aware of possible problems.
Eventually more and more of the trade saw thru the brand lead ethos and humour of what "MK" stood for was something like when asked was "Oh, it is latin for "Expensive Crap!" . I was never a fan of GET products (rightly or wrongly) but I did notice many electricians changing any faulty MK ones for GET and often specifying GET for complete jobs, because at first glance they looked rather similar and in operations they appeared more reliable.
I actually think that MK are the best looking sockets around (Bog standard white plastic range) and I like the "Two Live pins simultaneous plug in" approach I really do, they deserve credit for that.

TBH my personal opinion is I don't think MK ever deserved the 'superior' descriptions.
In the early days they were all good quality ( still have a stock of "Bill" double sockets which must be >4 decades old and vastly superior quality to anything produced today). My view is probably what happened is some early makes disappeared and some new cheaper products started filling the shelves meaning the good ones had to cut costs to compete. MK were probably one of the last, or even the last, to do that. The result is the products are now all produced to a much lower standard than decades ago and we the consumers have to put up with that... of course we the electricians rub our hands with glee as we charge a call out fee to change yet another failed socket in 5 minutes flat.

Yeaher in principle I agree... but...
Having had to replace more than a few due to that mechanism wearing/failing or the resulting damage by people smacking the plug in as it gradually gets so tricky.
Of course it also means it's more tricky to insert meter probes.
