Hi

I am having my kitchen extended. The actual kitchen furniture is quite new and I will be keeping it and adding to it.

The floor is buggered anyway and will all be replaced.

When I had the original kitchen fitted the tiling was done afterwards and it seemed to work out fine. This time somebody is telling me its better to tile the whole floor first and then fit the kitchen on top.

Which way is better?

Thanks

Depends how big your wallet is and what the price of the tiles are

There is no need for tiles under the units unless they are freestanding units

I have done it both ways .................common sense should prevail here

lots of the time, the argument is that 'if we change the kitchen you wont need to change the tiles' - but they miss the point that if your changing the kitchen, you probably want to change the tiles.

Fit the kitchen first, leave the plinths off and tile up to the legs

Thanks to you both.

The tiles will be expensive and it is not a free standing kitchen.

Tpt, you are right, I am far more likely to have to change the tiles in my lifetime than the kitchen.

So I will fit the kitchen and then tile up to it.

Thanks again
