Hi all

I have seen lights that can be sunk into the kick boards under kitchen units. They are usually round (similar to decking lights). I am struggling to find a supplier or even what to search for.

I think I am maybe using the wrong term in kick boards, but I mean that part of the base units between the floor and the doors of kitchen units.

If anyone can help with a good supplier or give me an indication on what to look for I would be very grateful.

Kind regards

Thanks it's me being oldschool calling them Kickboards or perhaps just incorrect!

1) See if you'll be happy if people start kicking them once you've got the LED's installed.

2) Consider instead a small groove machined in the underside of the worktop overhang with a thin LED ropelight set into it.

#1 I have a 2 year old daughter so its going to get kicked if I like it or not!!!

#2 nice idea, I was going to use the LED Rope on top of the wall units.

BAS dont you think idea #2 may cause premature delaminating of the work surface due to moisture ingress??

Not with granite or solid wood worktops.

If you've got laminate then I'm sure you could seal the groove after cutting it.

Not so good if they run under the sink lip or above a built under overn with loads of heat.

I do like the new LED under wall unit lights in the TLC catalogue. Bling, but tasteful :D

I've fitted under worktop led strips before. These were self adhesive about 400mm long,7mm wide and 2mm thick. Routed out on the inside of a clad on end panel to route the 12v power cable to them. Nice looking, but must admit they are Chavtastic. ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)
