Hi,
I have just stripped out my kitchen and am planning to install a new kitchen with laminate flooring. I am unsure whether to lay the floor first and install the kitchen units on top or install the kitchen and then the floor to just under the plinth. Is it correct that the floor should be floating to allow expansion and with the units on it that I could face problems?

Any help will be gratefully received!

As discussed various times here: most installers would not install a floor in a kitchen wall to wall. In the event you have a leak and the units are on top of the floor you'll have to rip out the units to remove the floor: too much hassle, extra costs etc.

Install the floor just an inch or so underneath the units and cut the kickboards to new height.
