Knocking sounds

I have noisy pipes, it only happens in the middle of the night it's like a knocking sound, the heating is off and no water is being drawn.

No washing machine on at all, not next door can't hear ppl at there house. This happens liturally middle of night 2 or 3 ish in the morning

Could be a faulty float or flush valve opening causing the pipes to vibrate and you only hear it at night because it is quieter.

As above, faulty push button syphon which is letting water trickle slowly into the toilet bowl and the noise you hear is the float valve topping the cistern up.

Today's Cheap Tip:
By some red food dye and put it in your toilet cistern and see if it trickles into the bowl.
