Know much about Mondeos?

My sister says she's looking at mondeos for her next family car. I haven't had a ford for a very long time. She says mondeos are one of the most reliable estate cars you can get (about 10 year old ones).
Anyone know?
Also I know the eco boost engines are notorious but there's others apparently econetic I think they're called. I've googled it, it just seemed to say oil changes are important.

They are reckoned to have the best engines in that sector, better than vw. But a car is only as good as its weak points.

We have a mk 4 petrol Mondeo on a 09 plate.
Common fault is the £700+ fuel pump and original stereo seems to pack up, but apart from that all good.
Don't know about diesel version
