Hello all, hope you're all well.

Just a quick one. I'm about to lay a laminate floor in a bedroom (simple square room). It's the first one I've laid, but I'm feeling confident and intend to listen to soft jazz whilst I do so...

However, I'm just mindful about the old *expansion* situation. I understand the 10mm all around the edge, and I'll be going under the skirting boards, but I'm aware that it's about 30 degrees C at the moment. Whilst I've had the boards acclimatising etc, I don't want to be in a situation where they *contract* instead of expand, and come winter they're shrinking away from the skirting boards. Of course, if I was laying the floor in January I wouldn't be concerned. However with the hottest summer for ages I just thought I'd ask...!

Or, am I being really dim?

skirting around 15mm so you will need to shrink 5mm all round to be a problem
