Hi
Can anyone recommend what thickness underlay to use in my hallway? Im fitting laminate flooring but currently there is a carpet with parque flooring underneath which I havent removed yet. I bought some 2.2mm foam underlay today but am beginning to think I should have got the 5mm one. The floor underneath is wooden floor boards.
Thanks

I’d have a thick one only if you don’t have heavy cupboards.

I fitted a 5mm one in my sons room and now I can see the legs of the bed have pushed it down.

4mm heavy, dense underlay like Duralay Duratex or 4mm Fibre Board would be perfect. Avoid the thin rolls of foam style underlay.
