Hi all,

I'm new around here so be nice :P

Basically me and my partner are moving into a house in a couple of weeks, and we have purchased plenty of packs of Egger 8mm Laminate Flooring.

At the moment the ground floor has vinyl/lino sheet flooring, and we forgot to check what's underneath, ie wooden sheets, or concrete. Am I right in thinking that if it is concrete i'll sheets of DPM, and then underlay over that?

And if it's wooden sheets I can just go ahead with the underlay? It's a 7-year old house, so pretty new. What underlay thickness would you recommend?

Can't I just use cheap laminate foam underlay?

Thanks!

Jason

Yes

and use the best quality underlay you can, you'll get a better floor as a result, less bounce, less noise and better insulation.
