Hi all.
Can anyone tell me if its possible to use the existing 'Treadaire' carpet underlay when laying laminate flooring please?

I'm going to take up the carpet in the lounge/hallway and lay laminate throughout.

Just wondering if anyone has done this or is it a 'must 'to lay the recommended foam underlay.

I'm aware of board bounce etc but can't see anywhere on this forum if its possible.

Thanks

Existing carpet underlay = dusty, full with little bugs, house mites etc. covering this up with plastic stuff that doesn't 'breath' = nice smelly result and a breading ground for moult.

Get rid of the carpet underlay and use proper underlayment.
