laminate floor water resitant sealing

i have my daughter kitchen floor to relay in a pretty good qualty laminate "clic " type Is there anything i could use prior to fitting that will hold out any water spillage that makes the stuff swell i have thought of wiping over the edges with WD40 or a bit of good car wax or silicone Any suggestions for me before i start

You may get away with a very thin bead of pva on the joint's, I know Pergo offer a sealant product for joints but we have never needed to use it.
