Hi guys

I’m wanting to lay laminate flooring on my landing however the top step of the stairs is raised higher than the landing floor level. Any tips what to do here?

Many thanks

Its a pain but if the laminate is thick enough and wide enough, rout out the underside to match the depth of the lip.

Thank you blup, not sure how to do that but will look into it

You might find thicker underlay will raise it sufficiently but that may have a knock on effect on the other thresholds.

If its thick enough, sanding down the top of the step with a belt sander might be an option.

Looks like a sheeting the landing with a hardboard (6mm) might bring it up high enough . All thresholds off the landing will need adjusting regardless .
