Laminate flooring with built-in wardrobes

Hi there. I have cheap laminate flooring I'm looking to replace with better quality laminate. The issue is there are built-in wardrobes the old laminate is running under. Do I just remove the plinths and cut the existing laminate before the legs of the wardrobes hiding the old laminate behind the plinth or try jack up the wardrobes and fit the new laminate? Many thanks for all suggestions and advice.
