Laminate that looks like real wood

Anybody have any laminate that looks like real wood? Or as close as plastic can get to wood!

Id like an oak planked floor, but I cant really afford the real thing unless I really stretch my budget.

Even the engineered floors seem to expensive...

So does anyone have any laminates that they would recommend?

What area of flooring are you looking to cover and what's your budget?

Having had both laminate and engineered flooring, I'd be inclined to save up and go for the engineered. Always found laminate to chip over time and look ruddy awful!

Appreciate that cost is a major factor, but engineered would probably be the better investment over time.

i agree. I bought some Quick Step rustic oak laminate - which is apparently one of the better laminates (£15psm) on a recommendation but when i saw the stuff layed on the floor it just looked plastic to me. So i exchanged it for some engineered oak (about double the price).

i think it has been more than worth the extra cost

I took your advice but am on quite a tight budget. I found this engineered floor http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/70080569 from Ikea. It looks good to me. What do you think? Any good?
