i have four lampposts to fit up my drive way. One about six foot tall and three about three feet tall they all have bases with three holes for screws. I'm planing to put them in the lawn next to the drive. I was planing to dig holes about two feet deep and six inches round, run a flexible plastic conduit through into the lawn for the cable, then fill it with postcrete. I'm going to make a jig out of scrap wood and use this to set three threaded rods into the postcrete before it sets. Then I should just be able to slip the lamppost over and bolt it down.

Any suggestions and advice please. Should I add a wire frame to the postcrete? And should I be following the instructions on the packet and putting water in the hole first, or using it as a dry mix?

no reinforcement required your plan sound OK although I'd use ballast and rapid cement rather than postcrete - that way you will be able to make sure that your finished level is exactly where you want it.

As above don't use postcrete. Don't use rapid set cement either it goes off far too quick to be useful for this situation.
