Just wondering if there's anything in the regs stopping you putting two separate switches on one outlet (with individual switches for each).

For example combing these on a 3 gang:

The fan has a separate isolator, that's just a normal light switch, didn't know if they split the switches for regs or just to make it obvious it's for a separate room.

Turn the power off and take some pictures of the connections so you dont mix them up when you do it.

And obviously you will have a hole to fill.

Having said that by removing one of the switches you might take the cables out of zone so be careful of that.

Cheers for this guys, I'm alright with the rest, plan to put smart switches in and will need to cut out the noggin to get bigger back boxes in.

Just checking there wasn't some weird UK reg I'd be breaking for something relatively simple. :D

Yes they might or might not be two or three circuits running those switches so check for that and then isolate the circuit(s) before proceeding.

Some of us would deliberately make two circuits appear in one box (or adjacent boxes prefereably) in order to join two circuit earths together in order to allow a little more resiliance via accidental disconnection of earth fault path and to reduce touch voltage until the fault clears without reliance on any RCD , every little helps sort of motto. Of course this does increase the chances of correct isolation being achieved - swings/roundabouts style.
