Landscape fabric

hello, just spent all day clearing my lawn and laying French drains to assist drainage, I then covered the area with landscape fabric ready to cover with stones/gravel but water is pooling onto of the fabric, is this right? Will it drain through? Have I just wasted my time putting drainage under the fabric? I don't want water to pool on top.

No dont worry water appears to sit on top but that is just the surface tension of water. It wont actually pool to a depth (if it does it the wrong fabric)

Its worth checking before going ahead. terram 1000 (or equivalent) would be the best fabric to use for this
