I have just spotted (don't ask me how I missed it until now) that the extension next door to the house I am in the process of buying has a massive boiler flue coming out of it:

The flue is:

2 meters from boundary wall between houses
8 meters from back bedroom, bathroom window of 'my' house
10 meters from velux window of 'my' house

....beyond being an eyesore, is there any record of these flues causing any disturbances at this distance?

Only a problem if they have a crematorium burner in there :)

See photo above - does that look like a wood burner?
It looks to me like a solid fuel central-heating/cooker, along the lines of an AGA, or Rayburn.
Maybe something like this?

Had to google that, had never heard of a stench pipe....
....I don't think/hope it isn't that; here's where I think its coming from relative to the large kitchen extension:

Could be, they are running some sort of cookery business in that building, official, or unofficial. Ask your solicitor to carry out enquiries about it..
