I need to replace a rotten doughnut washer which is causing the toilet cistern to leak when the toilet is flushed. Also, the metal plate is totally rusty due to the water which it has clearly been in contact with over the years.
My problem is, that the doughnut washer sold in the usual shops (Wickes and Homebase etc.) is too small for my toilet. I need a washer which is about 9cm outside diameter. The only one I can find is so small it just pushes through the hole!
Does anyone know where I can find a shop that sells doughnut washers (and the metal plate) in more than one size? The toilet is an Ideal Standard installed when the house was built 11 yrs ago.
