Large pipe clamps

It's ok, I'm just happy that people are throwing suggestions. That first one would do the 76mm part with maybe some adjustment, the mid fix wouldn't fit due to the fixing point, and the mikalor doesn't have a fixing point.

The other thing I could do, if possible is find some steel strap and make some up, if I can find a way for form it, maybe from something like the first link.

I have used a lock nut, but not happy with only 4mm depth of thread.
Use a longer bolt

Or use a U clamp intended for car exhausts, they come in various sizes and you can either drill another hole in the plate part to fit a mounting bolt or just drill two holes in your mounting plate the same distance apart as the holes in the clamp plate-and bolt thru the whole lot. They come in a variety of sizes eg eBay item 402992566500 or 355650948237

Also a thing, are u bolts - like above without the plate:

I've also seen masts and tubes mounted with threaded bar, and you basically just use the tube itself as a former for the bar, bending the bar around the tube for an exact size U clamp, then drill holes in a flat plate the width of the U:

Also while browsing I saw this - maybe see how big stuff like that goes:

Clark masts! A blast from the past.
You are looking at a professional mast support i.e. a bespoke part. Nothing Clark masts make are cheap. But they are quality. (Used a vehicle with one of their pump up masts with calibrated UHF and VHF receiving antennas on top in one of my jobs, last Century.)

You might wish to consider the possibility / likelihood of dissimilar metals corrosion when selecting your clamps.

Good luck in your searching.

Something like that looks good.

Basically the official ones for the mast are here https://www.clarkmasts.com/mast-accessories/mounting/1/mast-mounting-ring/

but they want £60 for one clamp!

can't use a longer bolt, you can only get 4mm deep.

Thanks for the links, but none will work. They need to resemble what I linked to before, otherwise they just won't fit.

Yeah good quality stuff, as you say, very expensive! I've emailed the company which does the universal clamps to see if they do anything bigger than what they list. We'll see, there'll be a way around what we currently have.

I don't really understand that. Cut the bolt down or turn it round

otherwise they just won't fit.
Perhaps you should show us what it needs to fit to, rather than saying "I need something like this" and then just saying "no", "no", "no" to every suggestion

Help us to help you; give us the secret bit of info only you know, that makes all these suggestions invalid

Well, I understand what you're saying, but I thought it was simple enough by showing the clamp I have and saying, it needs to look like that, with one central fixing point. As the ones I have, the only issue is the socket is welded on and the thread isn't deep enough.

So by 4mm deep, what I mean is what ever length the bolt is, you can only get in 4mm. So imagine it this way, the longer the bolt you use, the further away the mast would be clamped.

But yes when I get a chance I'll take a photo of the set up.

Someone linked to this a few days ago https://www.britishpipeclamps.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/image-117.jpeg which would be ideal if they did the sizes I want. I emailed the company about sizes but haven't heard back, so will call them next week. They're ideal as they don't have a welded socket like the clamps I have, but like the clamps I have, they have one single and central fixing point.

If you drill a U clamp here:

and pass a bolt through, you'll get more than 4mm

if the 4mm is a bother with your existing and eg 8mm would make you feel better, drill the existing clamp out (after clamping it into the mast) and wind a tap down then you can out a longer bolt down and it will just overhang into the mast inner

I've got some photos now of the tripod with mast attached. The photos will show why the clamps need to be pretty much the same type as shown. There isn't the width for U clamps or anything else really.

So long as the welds on those clips don't break, fine, but if they do, then we're in big trouble!

OK, no drilling needed, just pass one of the bolts on the U clamp through your yellow pole hole so the u clamp nut is bolting the clamp to the mast and the yellow pole at the same time

This bolt/nut assembly here:

Is this one here:

Drawn the outline of your yello pole in red. The yellow flange should be between the nut and the plate of the clamp. You could add washers or a nut for spacer if needed or try bolting the whole assembly to the other side of the flange (rotate the mast and u clamp 180 degrees) as the flange is slightly offset and the other side might give you more space. Could also grind a bit off the u clamp. If you really want security nip into your local garage/fab shop and ask them if they'll weld the Uclamp plate to the yellow pole flange (I'd use it as an excuse to buy a welder if I didn't already own 3)

Much more heavy duty than the 1mm steel band that's been tapped out to form a thread of that pipe clamp you've already got there

The side load needs to be in the centre, not to one side, so that won't work.
