Latest immigration figures

Read it again, I didn't say illegals. Please don't twist it. But UK is so good (apparently) it attracted 10 million extra people to come here to live. Not all the migrants in the world, but still a very high total for a small, insignificant island. Wouldn't you agree?
Have you thought of the state of the UK now, if the immigration was not allowed?

Remember the 1960's when immigration was so desperately needed that ships were chartered to bring immigrants to UK.

It's exactly government policy that's creating the strong draw to The UK
it is not

1) the draw isnt that strong given that we only take around 7% of the refugees / asylum seekers in EU

2) the draw is mostly because English is the most likely 2nd language of any foreigner and also UK is very well known having long history..........including one that involved invading loads of countries

Withdraw from the human rights court
that cant be done the GFA relies on being a signatory to the ECHR

and in any case leaving the ECHR would leave British citizens at the mercy of a dodgy government...........have a look at America

You said,

None of that is relevant to legal migration. Don't be so dishonest.

So we can't defend our borders against legal migration??? New one on me.

Please explain?

I'm sure someone of Reform's ilk, in the unlikely event of them getting elected, would defend our borders against legal migration.

Don't be so disingenuous/defeatest. Would only take the stroke of a pen of a committed politician working in our interests.

I reckon this is all building to what is going to be a poor maybe extremely poor night for Labour come the next GE. First the winter fuel payment fiasco. Regardless of whether or not it's a good idea, it landed poorly in terms of optics with the public. Now Keir makes his 'island of strangers' speech. Again, regardless of whether or not there is a degree of truth in this, I can't imagine it landing well with many Labour voters.

They're now trying to be all things to all people, which never works. It would be like Farage coming out and saying 'actually the current levels of legal and illegal migration, whilst a bit high, aren't of any great concern.' In short, a complete shift on their usual stance.

So cutting legal migration to zero so we dont have enough workers for the care sector, for the NHS, etc etc would be working in our interests

lets be honest, you are just a basic racist that hates anybody with a different skin.......you dont care about the interests of the UK

They haven't been in office for a year, yet all is doom n' gloom for the next GE.
Calm down n' carry on old Scot...
