Hi

My lawn seems to grow uneven, what I mean by this is there are certain bits that take ages to grow whilst other areas seem to grow instantly. I've read a bit about this and guess some of you will suggest top soil but how would I do this, or is there a decent lawn feed I could use?

I dont really fancy killing off the grass and starting again so looking for suggestions.
 
just read a bit about top dressing could someone explain a bit more about it please?
