Just wondered how you would go about laying new flags over the top of an existing concrete patio. Is it a nightmare?

Not really, I find it's easier!

If it's near the building make sure the slabs is 150mm below the dpc. I always use a solid mortar bedding and not 5 blobs etc.

no it makes life very simple. make sure the concrete is swept clean. i always give it a wash over with a neat cement slurry to help the mortar stick to the existing concrete.
