Hi,

I wondered if somebody could help me with a couple of questions. I plan to lay a few concrete flags in my back garden, do I need to put a slurry on them or with them not being granite is it ok? If so could somebody point me in the direction of a good premixed slurry or is it best to make my own?

Also am I right in thinking a wet mix of sharp sand and cement is best? They will be being laid on a MOT/hardcore base.

Thanks,
Danny

you don’t need to slurry concrete slabs, although dampening the back will help .
Not too wet a mix , bed them in with a rubber mallet.

Hi I know in construction we can say 'pour concrete-cement' or 'lay concrete blocks'. But can we say 'lay concrete' or 'lay concrete slab' to convey the same meaning with 'pour cement' ? You can see that (lay concrete-lay concrete slab) if you search on google, but I wonder does it have the same meaning with the verb 'Pour' ??? Thanks in advance.
Pour yourself a drink and take your medication.

"pour" implies some kind of fluid. Saying "pour" when referring to placing pre-cast cement items is not Native English.
