I'm about to tile our bathroom - not large, about 3m x 2m. My wife has decided that she wants the tiles to be laid diagonally!! Are there any tips on how to accurately measure the 'edge' triangular tiles that will need to be cut? I've checked the main forum and can't see that this subject has been discussed previously, so any help and advice would be much appreciated.

You need to make yourself a guide. It's straight forward but difficult to explain, however I'll try (please excuse the rough sketches).
You need to measure a tile diagonally as B on sketch, say it comes to 445mm. You then would add the grout gap C to make 450mm (assuming about a 5mm gap). You'll also need to add a few mm for a gap against the wall too.
Ok now you need to get a thin piece of timber (I use an old piece of laminate flooring) and cut it to that length you just measured. That's your guide.

Ok, you have already laid the other tiles but now need to fill in where point X is. You need to sit another tile exactly on top of tile A. Place your guide square against the wall and draw a line on the tile on top of tile A. When you cut the tile it should fit perfectly into the space. This priciple can be used on every tile.
Note: When you make your first cut, you may notice that the cut tile is either too small or too large by a small amount - you will either have to trim your guide a little or make a slightly longer one. Once you're happy, the guide will be perfect for every tile.

Good luck and post some photos when you've finished.

That's great gcol, thanks a million. I will post some photos when done, but I've one or two bits to sort out before doing the floor so don't hold your breath!!
Once again, thanks for going to so much trouble to help out.
