Laying Karndean flooring

Hi

Good on you for having a go and trying it out. The area i need to cover is about 80m2 and there is underfloor heating under the chipboard. What primer did you use?

I am up in scotland but thanks for the offer to come and have a look.

I have about 2 months before i get the keys for the house so im sure i will sort somthing out.

regards

Chris

Just wondering how everybody has got on with laying the Karndean directly to chipboard? 7 years is quite a good test!

The simple answer is:

You can do whatever you want and run the risk of the floor failing

You can fit it as per the manufacturers instructions and significantly reduce or eliminate the risk and end up with a better looking job.

As a retailer, we would never fit direct to chipboard, and with areas like conmservatories and any area with UFH we would use the specialist UFH adhesives. If the floor fails, it's our responsibilty if it has'nt been fited correctly to the manufacturers instructions.
