I am to lay laminate in my living/dining room and wondered as the title says, do I need to lay underlay? Is there any reason for it or benefit!!

I live in a detached house and the only thing under the living/dining room is my under floor space so noise aint going to bother anyone exept me also I have a no shoes in house rule so no clicking of shoes on it either!!!

Cheers in advance
Kev.

the underlay is there to stop the two floors clapping together, trust me! it will make a right load of noise with no underlay
