Is this generally an acceptable thing to do? The lino would act as an extra layer of insulation?

Also, the floor of the kitchen is concrete, would the lino act as a suitable DPM or would I need to add a plastic sheet as well?

Can anyone recommend any cheap laminate floor stockists as well. We are 'tarting up' our kitchen, the laminate will probably be replaced in 3-4 years anyway.

TIA

Is it lino that is on the floor? - this is normally fully stuck down - or is it cushion vinyl? You can install on lino or vinyl (depending on condition) but it is better to remove it - more hygienic for one thing.

You should put down a dpm and underlay - combi foam type is better.

I wouldn't recommend any cheap laminate I'm afraid.
