Hi all, I would appreciate your opinions / suggestions on the following.
I wish to lay some Classen Mega Lock laminate flooring in my dining room. The current floor has been stripped of the knackered Marley tiles which were down, and is now mostly bitumen adhesive with some patches of bare concrete. There is a slight difference between the height of the adhesive and the bare patches - no more than 1-2mm. I assume that there is no DPM, though there is a 1" wide trench round the edge of the room between the concrete and the wall - this was originally covered by the skirting.
Ideally I would like to find the quickest, easiest way to lay laminate in this room - I was thinking laying a heavy plastic DPM over the current concrete and folding the edges over into the trench at the edge of the room, then laying fibreboard underlay over this to even out the small height differences. I appreciate that my approach is something of a bodge, but is it likely to work in the short to medium term?
