Hi all,

About to embark on building a shed/light use workshop for the garden, this is likely the first of a few posts seeking advice.

Finished shed will be 6x3m. Most likely sloped roof rather than apex.

First job is the laying of the slabs;

Will the area have to be completely slabbed, 100% coverage? Or will I get away with having them spaced out but still providing plenty of support?

Could spacing them out give me damp issues coming from the soil?

Cheers

Hi Sonnyjim
That's a pretty big shed - I would think it's going to be a better bet to lay a concrete slab for this.
You could lay slabs just where the shed bearers are, but they can settle and then distort the shed framework over time. Also, bare earth areas under a shed is an open invitation for rats and possibly foxes to create havoc!
Hope this helps.
