Hi,

Just about to lay the underlay in a bedroom, but not sure if i need any other equipment?

I plan to put carpet grippers down first, how far from the wall should these be?

When i lay the underlay, do i need to use any glue? if so what type and should i use tape again if so what type?

All help would be appreciated ASAP, I have to do this tonight as my first child is expected at any minute and the missus will not be impressed if i dont have it done and ready should it arrive suddenly, she keeps feeling twinges!

sorry got here too late.

you ideally needed 2" gaffer tape (to join the underlay along the abutments) and 3/4" blue cut tacks to fix the underlay at the corners.

for the grippers use a piece of mdf for the spacer and to protect the skirting. i use 6 mm thk for the carpets i buy. if the carpets are thick then u need a wider gap (gap should be slightly smaller than the thickness of the carpet).
