Best if the lead had wrapped around the brickwork corner, & come down to the gutter. A pic from the side showing if the abutment lead has been turned into stepped chases would help?

more photo's please - from the side (R/H side view of the original photo) and a close up of the end of the lead as in the original photo of yours. is the lead one piece or several?
