Hi

I'd like to replace the single glass panes (in the photo shown) with double glazed or security glass ideally with a leaded pattern insert.

I've priced up a single pain in proper stained glass and it was over £350 for one of the windows, any idea how much a uPVC one would be?

Thanks

If it was me I would be do the fanlight above the door in stained glass and leave the rest clear.

If you want stained glass with lead caming it’s going to be expensive as it’s a real craft skill

It would be a crying shame to replace that lovely period joinery with upvc.

I want to keep as much of the period joinery as possible and just change the glass to something more decorative. Also it is not exactly secure being single pane.

If there is enough rebate you can put a sealed unit in there, of its currently putty , factor in putting new beading in too , as sealed units deteriorate quicker with putty and a lot of manufactures won't warranty sealed units in putty. Making them sealed units would mean it is unlikely to be lead and came stained glass but the film and lead version as that's what is used in sealed units. Both the units either side of the door will.need to be a safety glass ....4mm tough is the most common, and personally ,if you are changing the toplights too , id toughen those , as they ar e above your head going through the door
