Please don’t judge me! And it’s not my place.
With that caveat in place.

I helped a friend a couple of years ago, water was leaking along the side of the bath and wall. I packed it out with sealant and then put these strips across the top for additional protection. This was fine for last couple of years but has now started to leak through again.

I can strip it all away and do again but wondering if there’s a better way to do this?

Move it nearer to tne wall, if that isnt practical you will have to carry on re sealing at more frequent intervals. You could try the old tip of sealing it with the bath full of water, to reduce flex, but I am not convinced that works because the bath is empty most of the time

If that amount of sealant is to bridge a gap between the bath and the wall then as suggested the bath needs moved, if the wall's so far out of square that the gap can't be narrowed then another approach is needed.

Clean away all the silicone and take pics of the bath/wall edge so we can see how far out it is. I see the bath has a wooden frame, I presume for the panelling. Are there batons on the wall along the bath's long and short edges supporting those sides of the bath?
