Hi as above really, I noticed last night we had a slight leak, so shut off at the in-line connector, undone the nut that's connected to the bottom of the cistern noticed the plastic thread has gone to shot and whoever connected up before, used loads of that thin plasticy tape (i mean loads), I take it all i need to do is get one of: http://www.screwfix.com/prods/55211.../Adjustable-Height-Bottom-Entry-Torbeck-Valve and re-connect backup?

yep.
be careful when fitting the pipe back on, do it by hand as they can cross thread easy then nip up with adjustable spanner.

just an update, after finally removing the old one and removing an extra couple of joints i got working, quite simple really, just no room at all to kneel down and fix, i had to lie down.... nightmare, but done, had a tiny leak at 1 point, but tightened up with spanner a tad more and all was OK.
