Hello.
Got a severe water leak from what looks to be a plug on a linea max. it's on the thermal storage (bottom right if lying on your belly looking at boiler) . Can't really tell if it's a drain plug because it's all rusted up.
Anyone ever changed this/knows what it is/if it's repairable or will a new thermal storage be required.
Thanks

it will be a cow to get to if its on the store. the max is a tedious thing to work on.

Too right. Think the whole boiler has to come off of base plate to even get at the leak. Just don't know if it's a leak that can be repaired or if a whole new thermal store needs ordered

impossible to say without seeing it. it probably hasnt corroded anything so it should be a case of resealing it with something, bear in mind i (sadly) see quite a few of these and ive never had to do anything to the stores yet.

i have pondered what i would do if i did have to and came to the conclusion id run away and hide.

if the flue is disconnected and the wiring removed, disconnecting the water/gas connections at the bottom should allow the entire boiler to slide out towards you for access. probably best with some poor corgi for that kind of action though.

Ha, I am some poor corgi :D Just never seen a leak from this spot & don't fancy removing that beast of a boiler if leak can't be repaired anyway

Cheers nickso.
Sleepless night ahead then thinking about it........
