leaking garage

just moved house with the garage cut into a sloping back garden the garden is about a meter high at the side and back of the garage and when it rains water seeps throught the block work is there any way to stop this Help please !

You would be best digging the garden back away from the garage wall to create a clear border of about 12 to 18 inch around the garage walls.If you can dig the foot of this border a few inches below the garage base then do it and fill the trough with pea gravel or similar.Alternatively you may find it more effective to sink a length of guttering into the ground at the foot of the trough to ensure any water is quickly carried away to either side of your garage and dispersed into your garden.Let me know how you get on.
 
Hi Guys,

I have the same problem yet next doors garage is 12" to the right of ours and is about 4' higher so cant dig away between the two for fear of their garage moving... is there anything I can paint on the inside??? Or is it a major building job??
