Leaking gate valve

I have a gate valve which leaks when the valve is set to anything but open.

I have tried to tighten the nut slightly but it has not made any difference.

The actual gate part of the valve is set down in concrete so I ideally want to avoid digging that up.

Is it possible to just replace the top section where it appears the leak is coming from?

If you can remove the red wheel ,you could re pack the gland.

It is not the mains water.

Plumbing is for a pool. Need to close it so water diverts to the heater.

Is the gland the washer that sits in the packing nut? I have unscrewed that nut but I believe I will need to open the nut on the handle before I can get to the washer - as mentioned by terry.

Where is the measurement taken to determine the size of the valve? I was thinking of getting a replacement from SF and using the parts I need (not sure of the size tho!)

You'll have next to no chance of that working. The internal design of the gate valves would need to be identical or it won't shut off.

Can you get access to the pipe anywhere else along its length and perhaps fit a new valve?

The manufacturers of gate valves do not make interchangeable parts. It's the inlet / outlet ports that have to be ,for instance, 22mm compression ,or threaded BSP. You may or may not be lucky in finding one thats compatible.
The gland is the seal that the shaft rotates in.

its only a short run through the concrete.... ideally don't to break it up but will have to if needs be.

So there is no chance I can get a new/replacement packing nut and washer?

You can try repacking it with PTFE tape,
