On the back of my toilet is a straight push fit soil pipe connector to the waste pipe in the wall. It started to drip water at the joint between the toilet bowl and the connector.

I've pushed the connector off and back on again and also I've rotated to connector thru 180 degrees by spinning it around in situ, but it still drips.

I guess that I could fix it by replacing it, but that would mean removing the toilet, a big job for me! Is there a sealant that I could use to try to make this joint watertight, such as shower silicone seal?

The house is 9 years old, so I guess that this is the age of the toilet and all its fittings too.

Thanks

Bodget & Scarper.

Someone suggested wrapping denso tape round the fitting, that will cure it

Does that mean that sealant is unlikely to work?? I'm not a plumber, so I dunno... Which is why I asked the question :)

To answer the question tale it out and fit a new one or get a plumber for an hour.

If its only a small leak Plumber's Mait - a sort of putty stuff cost a couple of pound - might work. Not a plumber but we have an old house and have had lots of plumbing problems like this.
