Hi all,
I have noticed a puddle of water in the kitchen and traced it to the stopcock. It is leaking from inside the handle area.
Obviously when I turn the stopcock to the off position the water stops leaking.
I am new to plumbing and wanting advice on how to fix it.

Thankyou josel

1. Buy a roll of PTFE tape.
2. Shut the stop cock.
3. Undo the gland nut.
4. Roll up 6" length of PTFE tape to make it like 'string'.
5. Wind it around the valve spindle, not too tight, between the gland nut and the threaded hole.
6. Do up the gland nut, but just enough to push the tape down into the hole.
7. Repeat steps 3 through 6.
8. Now nip the nut up tightish.
